Outtakes

Since we were moving around so much and using public transportation, we all agreed it would be best to use a backpack for packing, I used an 40 L Osprey Farpoint. I also used compression cubes- but it worked. Mala had a Cotopaxi 35 L and she seemed to have more space- the design was much more square. I never tried the Cotopaxi to see if it was as comfortable as mine. Lu had a Lands End 40 L- but it isn't made anymore. Susanne had a heavy duty bag- but she didn't have to worry about getting it on the airplane as carryon.

At Dresden train station (different from the one we arrived at) on way to Prague.

This is the Berlin train station on way to Dresden, where we would have missed our train if not for Susanne.

Packing- my pack list was almost perfect for Europe and Spain in the fall. I could have left the merino crew and polar fleece zip, and added 5 more undies and sox. so for next time.....

Ideal Cloths List: (includes what I wore) 2 pants, 2 short sleeve shirts, 2 long sleeve shirts(1 sun 1 smart wool) 10 sox, 10 undies, sneakers, Mephisto shoes, Think sandals, work out cloths, swim suit, dress, stockings, rain jacket, packable down, wool scarf, sun hat, minimal toiletries.

My Rodan & Fields travel face lotions made it through the three weeks. I used the hotel's soap and shampoo. I bought a small sunscreen in Barcelona. I replenished my facial wipes as needed. I did laundry at Susanne’s and 2 times at a laundromat in Barcelona

Now I can say I did laundry in German and Spanish!!! When I asked at the front desk if they had laundry service, the man working said they did, but there was a nice laundromat not very far away. He proceeded to tell me how to get there in simple terms “walk out the door, turn left, walk towards the clock, turn left….” Sooooo off I went with my cube of dirty clothes. Interesting that there were a lot less dryers than washers- but people normally air dry their cloths. I was very proud of myself for navigating the laundry system in Espanol!
